SSD Programs

____________

Summit School District

We aim to help support our local community through our partnership programs with the Summit School District!

KSS provides discounted summer day camp rates for local families. Our sliding fee scale ensures that families in the community have access to affordable childcare.

SSD programs extend beyond the summer months. We provide Summit County students with more opportunities for outdoor education throughout the school year with our Mountain Ecology program and other school specific programs. Through this and other specialized programs, we aim to enhance the educational experience and support what students are learning in their classrooms.

Summit School District Partnership Programs

Summit Day Camp

Offered in week-long sessions, our KSS campus day camp utilizes our 23-acre campus and surrounding areas to instill an appreciation for nature and the outdoors. Each session follows the same core activities and adventures with a different science theme hidden in each week.

SSD Mountain Ecology

This program is designed to supplement the elementary school curriculum by taking students into their backyards to learn about our unique forest dynamics, climate change, and how to maintain forest health.

In the words of parents:

“No phones. Dedicated time to focus on self. Reminders about gratitude. Getting in touch with nature. The counselors are strong, sweet, great role models.”

“My kid looks forward to this every year! It is so important for her to get out of her usual routine and meet new people and get a chance to be on her own.”

“We love KSS. The growth our kids have each summer is priceless. Thank you for all the hard work, planning and everything that goes into what you do!”
