Keystone Mountain Adventures
Keystone Mountain Adventures is our wilderness-based program, focused on growing leadership and wilderness skills. We strive to immerse you in the wilderness experience so that you walk away from your trip with new skills, confidence, an appreciation of the natural world.
Every KMA program is unique featuring a variety of adventure activities within each experience. Whether the program features whitewater rafting, canyoneering, or backpacking, you will learn transferable leadership skills.

Session Dates & Rates
|Session 1||6/17-6/28||$2,299||Moab Adventures: This is the ultimate adventure! You will backpack, canyoneer in the slot canyons of Utah, and canoe the Green River.|
|Session 2||7/8-7/19||$2,299||Colorado Great Sand Dunes: Backpack through the Sangre De Cristo Range and hike the sand dunes of Great Sand Dunes National Park. Part two of the adventure is whitewater rafting on the Arkansas River, and soaking in the hot springs!|
|Session 3||7/22-8/2||$2,299||Rocky Mountain National Park: Explore the wilds of Rocky Mountain National Park while backpacking, rock climbing, and summit attempts of 14,000ft peaks.|
Alternate Options for Getting to KSS
Morrison Drop-off/Pick-Up Location
New for the Summer of Curiosity we’re offering a Morrison pick up and drop location for all our overnight programs. You can now meet Keystone Science School and your counselors at the T-Rex Park and Ride in Morrison. Be sure to select the Morrison Drop-Off-Pick-Up within the registration options.
- Fee: $40 each way
- Drop Off: 10:00am-10:30am
- Pick Up: 1:30pm-2:00pm
You can travel by plane to Denver International Airport. We’ll be sure you are greeted by a KSS Counselor when you walk off of the plane. We send our counselors behind the TSA security checkpoints to greet everyone directly at the airline gate so there is no need to for you to navigate the airport on your own. Be sure to check the arrival or departure option within the registration options and book your travel to arrive and depart within the specified time windows.

Learn the ins and outs of backcountry cooking. Armed with a camp stove, spice kits, and basic pot set you will take a turn preparing meals for the group. KSS is great at providing ingredients to meet the needs of any dietary restriction and the caloric intake of any adventurous days.
Each Keystone Mountain Adventure program offers hands-on opportunities for our participants to learn how to travel in the backcountry. Everyone on the program will learn outdoor living skills such as how to prepare meals, hang a bear bag, and basic map reading. Each program also highlights leadership skills leaving participants with an understanding of judgment and decision making, communication, tolerance for adversity, and self-awareness.
