Why A Capital Campaign?

We believe that every child deserves strong and inspired leaders and that the spirit of KSS is made of the relationships built between student and teacher, camper and counselor, volunteer and staff member. Our campus fosters these relationships and we believe everyone deserves to be proud to call it home – a place to inspire learning, friendships, and curiosity.

Campaign Update

Keystone Science School has reached its initial fundraising goal of $3.9M! We are making a final push to $4.0M to cover escalating construction costs and contingencies. Any excess funds will be used towards future capital needs. We are grateful to each of the donors who have already made this project a reality! Your support is invaluable to improving our staff team and instructor experience at Keystone Science School, helping to retain the excellent employees who impact over 7,800 youth and adults each year.

What we've raised to date: $3,953,000

Our Construction Update

Construction began in June 2018 and is underway! We expect it to wrap up sometime in early 2019. Our architect, O'Bryan Partnership, and builder, RA Nelson, have been excellent partners in coordinating construction with our program teams to ensure the KSS experience is not impacted during the construction period. Please stop by to see the progress and check our Instagram for photos and updates.

History of Capital Campaigns and Projects at KSS

KSS has completed four capital campaigns starting in 1988. Each of these projects focused on benefiting our participants and clients.

The time has come to invest in our staff and create A Place To Inspire. Without that investment, growth will, inevitably, stagnate. Keystone Science School has reached that point where inadequate instructor housing and office space will, in the near future, result in missed opportunities and a decline in our ability to accomplish our mission and to serve our constituents. Simply put: we cannot continue to grow or maintain our impact without an investment in our infrastructure and staff.
