Mission Moment – Girls in STEM: Snow Science 2025

_____________

What happens when curiosity meets the magic of winter? Girls in STEM: Snow Science is all about answering that question! Over the last weekend in January, a group of adventurous young scientists explored the fascinating world of snow, turning Summit County’s winter wonderland into their very own outdoor laboratory.

Through hands-on experiments, field research, and expert guidance, participants didn’t just learn about snow—they experienced it. From digging snow pits and analyzing snowpack stability to understanding avalanche safety and the science behind weather patterns, these future scientists discovered just how much there is to know about the frozen world around them.

But it wasn’t just about science—it was about confidence, teamwork, and the joy of exploration. Seeing these young minds light up as they uncovered the secrets of snow was truly inspiring, and we captured some of the best moments in our latest Mission Moment Video!

🎥 Check out the video to see these incredible young scientists in action!

A huge thank you to our instructors, guest experts, and the participants who made this weekend unforgettable. We can’t wait to see where their curiosity takes them next!
