Mission Moment: SSD Mountain Ecology

_____________

Summit County students from local schools once again had the incredible opportunity to immerse themselves in nature through our Mountain Ecology program at Keystone Science School this winter and spring. Thanks to the unwavering support of Vail EpicPromise, this initiative has continued to thrive, enriching the educational experiences of young learners across the county.

Tailored to complement elementary school curricula, our program extends beyond the confines of traditional classrooms, inviting students to explore the wonders of their own backyard. Out on the trail they delve into the intricate dynamics of our natural environment, gaining invaluable insights into topics such as climate change and forest preservation.

We were delighted to welcome students from local schools, including Frisco Elementary, Silverthorne Elementary, Breckenridge Elementary, Upper Blue Elementary, Dillon Valley Elementary, and Summit Cove Elementary. Their enthusiastic participation and eagerness to learn further underscore the importance of hands-on, experiential learning in fostering a deep appreciation for our planet.

As we reflect on another successful season of the Mountain Ecology program, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Vail EpicPromise for their steadfast commitment to education and environmental stewardship.
